Intramural Sports Default Request Form
A team that is not at the game site, signed in (team must be signed in 10 minutes before the game) and ready to play by the time the game is scheduled to start then that team will be charged a forfeit. In order for a team to receive a forfeited win, they must have the minimum number of players present and signed in. If neither team is signed in and ready to play at game time, both teams will receive a forfeit.
For all intramural sports, including leagues and tournaments, there will be a $25 forfeit fee. The $25 forfeit fee will be charged to the team captain’s account. It is the team captain’s responsibility to ensure their team is present and ready to play at game time. For more information regarding the responsibilities of the team captain, please refer to pages 6-7 of the Intramural Participant Handbook. The team captains student account will be charged the $25 forfeit fee.
A default is an un-played game that is recorded as a loss, but is not considered a forfeit. A team may receive a one-time default if they are unable to attend a game. The only way to default a game is for the team captain to complete this form providing a justification for the default. This request must be received 24 hours in advance for weekday games. For Sunday games, the captain must complete this form by noon the Friday before. The intramural coordinator will confirm your default request. It is not approved until you receive confirmation from the intramural sports staff. Only 1 default per sport is allowed, unless approved.
